Installation

  • Why can’t I connect to my WiFi network?

    • The sensor only supports networks with a password. Make sure the WiFi network you are trying to connect your Power Sensor to is secured with a password.

      The Power Sensor can only connect to 2.4GHz networks. Make sure your WiFi network you are trying to connect your Power Sensor is not 5GHz.

  • Why can’t I connect to my Power Sensor using my mobile app?

    • Make sure the Power Sensor is in WiFi setup mode when trying to connect to it. Power Sensor is ready to connect to your app when the two outer LEDs on your Power Sensor are glowing yellow.

  • Why does the Power Sensor enter install mode?

    • The Power Sensor has an install mode to assist finding the optimal location for attaching the device to your cable. The LED indicators show the strength of the detected AC level. The Power Sensor will enter normal operation if it is stationary for more than 30 sec. If you haven’t been able to attach your Power Sensor yet, momentarily press the power button to go back into install mode.

  • How do know if my Power Sensor entered normal operating modes and is setup correctly?

    • Once the positioned the Power Sensor will switch to power save mode where the LED will pulse at 6 second intervals.

  • Why did my Power Sensor turn off before I could connect to my WiFi network?

    • If you haven’t been able to connect your Power Sensor to your WiFi network yet then it will turn off completely after approximately 2 ½ minutes to preserve battery. Turn the device back on and follow the setup instructions.

  • Why do I only see a maximum of ten WiFi networks in the list of available networks?

    • When Power Sensor is turned on, it scans for WiFi networks in its vicinity. When you connect your mobile device to your Power Sensor using Bluetooth Low Energy, your Power Sensor will return an ordered list of 10 WiFi networks with the strongest signal. If your WiFi network does not appear you can manually enter your network and password.

  • Where can I download the Power Sensor app from?

    • You can download the DiUS Power Sensor app from the links to the Apple App store or Google Playstore above.

  • Why does the Power Sensor app ask to enable bluetooth?

    • Your mobile device and your Power Sensor communicate using Bluetooth Low Energy.

  • Why does the Power Sensor app ask to enable my location services?

    • Location data is used to check whether your solar panels are performing optimally. No personal information is being gathered.

      For Android devices:

      The Android OS requires location services to be enabled due to data protection restrictions during Bluetooth Low Energy scanning.

  • What are the supported devices for the Power Sensor app?

    • For Apple devices:

      For Apple devices The Power Sensor app requires iOS 10.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that support Bluetooth Low Energy.

      For Android devices:

      For Android devices the Power Sensor app requires Android Jellybean or later.

  • What does the Power Sensor app do?

    • The Power Sensor app helps you connect your Power Sensor device to your home WiFi network.

Power Sensor Device

  • Do I need to charge my Power Sensor?

    • Your Power Sensor should arrive fully charged, and the battery should last approximately six months.

      You can charge the Power Sensor using a micro-usb cable. The LED indicators will turn yellow when charging, indicating the level of battery. The LEDs will turn green when fully charged.

  • How do I erase my WiFi password from my Power Sensor?

    • Hold down the Power button until all 4 LEDs have lit up, and then flash red. You will need to reconnect your Power Sensor to your WiFi connection.

  • How do I disconnect my Power Sensor from my WiFi network?

    • Hold down the power button until all 4 LEDs have lit up, and then flash red. You will need to reconnect your Power Sensor to your WiFi connection.

  • How do I turn off my Power Sensor?

    • Hold down the power button until all 4 LEDs have lit up, and then flash red. You will need to reconnect your Power Sensor to your WiFi connection.

  • What are the LED statuses indicating?

Solar Inverters and Switchboards

  • How do I know what type of inverter I have?

    • A string or centralised inverter is usually mounted against the wall of your house and is connected between the solar array and the switchboard which connects to all of your home electrical wiring. The inverter converts power from Direct Current (DC) into 240V Alternating Current (AC) in a single centralised unit.

      A solar micro-inverter is commonly integrated with each solar panel and converts power from DC to AC at the panel. The AC power is connected directly to your switchboard.

  • How do I know where to attach the Power Sensor?

    • Please refer to our Installation Videos on this page for information on attaching your Power Sensor

  • Where can I find my electricity meter and switchboard?

    • Your electricity meter will be commonly located towards the front of your house near the main entrance or a side wall.

      Your switchboard may be colocated with, or positioned away from your electricity meter. Your switchboard houses your homes safety switches and circuit breakers.

  • Where can I find my solar inverter?

    • If you have a micro-inverter solar system you will install your power sensor at the switchboard.

      If you have a centralised inverter the unit will be mounted against an outside wall of your house which may or may not be under cover. The solar inverter will be clearly marked.
