CES 2014: Percepscion and The Connected Home

At the start of January, DiUS’s Smart Energy start-up Percepscion took part in the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world’s gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies.  Held in Las Vegas every year, the 2014 event had over 152,000 attendees from more than 150 countries visiting 3,200 exhibitors during the four day celebration of all things geek.

Percepscion was invited to showcase its portfolio of Smart Energy products as a part of the ZigBee Alliance pavilion.  According to the event organisers the ZigBee stand generated the most sales leads of all exhibitors, with nearly 320 attendees pre-registering their intention to visit Percepscion alone – no wonder our guys were so busy!

Percepscion’s Chief Technology Officer, Mark Anderson, reported back on CES and the continued evolution of the Connected Home into everyday living. “Connected Home is certainly closer to becoming a mainstream market. At CES2014 we saw a growing number of new entrants and established service providers showcasing turn-key solutions supporting security, home automation and more recently energy management for the Connected Home. A key take-away from the Connected Home solutions was the heavy emphasis on consumers and simplifying their everyday lives, letting the technology do all the heavy lifting, whilst providing convenience, savings and a seamless and positive user experience.”

Our participation at CES 2014 builds on Percepscion’s success in the Australian market. Percepscion’s PowerVu home energy monitor was chosen by Australia’s largest energy retailer, Origin Energy, to be the face of its Smart Energy program and is now Australia’s highest selling Smart Energy device. Percepscion’s international journey continues this month with our sponsorship of the Smart Energy Summit in Austin, Texas.
