Your role at DiUS:
I’ve joined as Lead Software Engineer Consultant.
What excites you most about the job?
What excites me most about the job is the potential to build solutions that have a positive impact, even if only a little. Working at DiUS presents the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of projects, which is incredibly appealing to me. The chance to collaborate with and learn from innovative and experienced folks at DiUS, known for their talent and expertise, is another highlight. Moreover, the team fosters an openness to first principles thinking in building solutions, which aligns perfectly with my approach to problem-solving.
Why did you join DiUS?
I was attracted to DiUS because its values align with my own principles. I believe in using my knowledge and experience to benefit others in whatever way possible and always strive to do my best, focusing on integrity and thoughtful craftsmanship. DiUS’s commitment to these same principles is something I appreciate a lot. I’m excited about the potential to build software that individuals and organisations will use for a long time. I enjoy the process of building solutions, and with the work DiUS is involved in and the talented people here, I couldn’t think of a better place for me to join.
What was your first coding experience and what attracts you to tech?
My first coding experience was writing a simple program in C++ at university. Initially, I found programming to be the most natural progression of my love for mathematics at school, in the way you structure thoughts around problem-solving. Over the years, I’ve found myself enjoying all aspects, not only programming, involved in building software and solutions. I think tech has the potential to solve many problems that still exist, and I’m excited to be a part of it.
Share a fun hobby that your have:
Any free chance I get, I try to sneak in a game of online chess (although I don’t seem to win all that much) to relax.
