10 of the DiUS team down tools to contribute to grassroots Agile conference

At DiUS, we stand for the generation of ideas and sharing of knowledge to support communities. So, sponsoring, attending and speaking at the Lean Agile Systems Thinking (LAST) Conference in Melbourne on Friday July 11 is right up our alley.

The LAST Conference is a very popular grassroots one-day event focused on real experiences and the sharing of the latest practices and hands-on skills. It’s a conference organised by practitioners, for practitioners.

Now in it’s third year, LAST sells out fast because it’s a great opportunity for practitioners to learn from and be inspired by each other. It’s certainly one of the most popular Agile conferences our team pick to attend, with 10 people from DiUS choosing to attend, along with more than 450 others, this year.

DiUS is caffeinating LASTConf

DiUS is pleased to be caffeinating LAST Conference 2014 as part of our silver sponsorship of the event. While Axil Coffee Roasters is a short walk from Swinburne University, it’s totally worth it. Look out for your coffee token at registration.

If you’re attending the conference, don’t miss the talks by DiUS speakers:

A new way of approaching business: Creating shared value to make a bigger (and better) pie

Pete Cohen’s presentation is part of the Lightning Talks morning session from 9.00 to 10.00 am that features a series of inspiring and motivational 5 minute talks.

Agile coaching for teams

By Caoilte Dunne at 1:10pm – 1:40pm

Your team has formed, stormed and normed. It is doing standups, has retros and can recite the Agile Manifesto. Yet, it lacks spark and is still not performing at the level of a great team.

So, what can you do to set the team on the path to this next level of performance?

In this presentation we will explore some tools / behaviors of the Agile Coach that focus on revealing the underlying system of the team to the team. These reveals help to lift and inspire the entire team, allowing for your high performance team to form.

You will also find out how 19th century painter Jean-Léon Gérôme helps in these reveals, why you want to avoid ‘Flanders’ beatnik parents’ syndrome and what is the hidden fourth reveal?

Here’s some more about the conference, and the full schedule here.
