It’s faster and more subtle to check your wrist than grabbing your phone out of your pocket. It feels like a platform with a lot of potential but nothing is fully exploiting it yet.
Here are three examples of how I have been inspired to try something new and break out of my comfort zone – all because of the guys and girls at DiUS.
To be successful, Software Engineers need to be able to articulate their thoughts using spoken words as well as using their hands on keyboards. They need to be able to gather and refine requirements and build software that precisely fits the needs of their clients.
I’d never been a particularly keen or capable runner, so had to do a couch to marathon in 4 months. My aim was to run 42 km in under 4 hours. And I did. Just. With a whole 27 seconds to spare. And then I was hooked.
Our very first Hack Day in October 2013 was a huge success, a lot of fun and generated some great ideas. For our next one–we would focus on Creating Shared Value: hacks that benefit our community and DiUS at the same time.
